Elijah's Story

Eli 7-10-11

Here Elijah is snuggling with his friend, Tom.

August 16, 2011 - Elijah is doing great! His body is making new bone to replace the old useless one. Even Dr. Noone had a big smile today! He is officially out of the woods.

Eli has made huge progress from the physical therapy and he works really hard. His muscles are phenomenal and he is easily going up and down ramps and balancing on both hind legs.

Maybe best of all, he is learning to trust people!

Looks like Elijah is going to be a normal boy after all.

We want to thank every one who has held their breath (and my hands) for their help and prayers.

Elijah has so much love to give and he is definitely a

Pap 911 Rescue Hero!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
July 19, 2011, After a month of rehab therapy, Elijah had his recheck appointment with Dr. Noone this morning. The news is good and bad.
 Eli is much stronger and bearing more weight on his left leg. His gait is almost even when he is moving.
But Eli’s knee joint has not improved much – if at all. While the graft is thriving, the ‘old’ bone under the plate has resorbed in some places, leaving a void where at least 2 screws should be secured.....
To read the rest of the story, click on Elijah below.....
In June 2011, Elijah was examined by Dr. Noone. The grafted bone is perfect! But the old bone at the knee joint and below is still soft. On June 13, 2011, Elijah started physical therapy at the canine rehab center. He is learning to follow instructions and does his exercises without complaint.
 In May 2011, Elijah is taking a break in therapy to try to learn a little more about being a loving companion. next vet appointment is June 9, 2011.
March 24, 2011 Elijah Has Record Breaking Surgery in Marietta,GA .
